The Cho Lon street corner, then on Minh Mạng Street (today's Ngô Gia Tự Street, District 10), where South Vietnamese national police chief Nguyễn Ngọc Loan summarily shot a bound Viet Cong prisoner — commonly identified as Nguyễn Văn Lém — on 1 February 1968, the second day of the Tet Offensive. AP photographer Eddie Adams' photo of the moment, 'Saigon Execution,' became one of the most iconic and consequential images of the Vietnam War. An ordinary street corner today, with no memorial or marker.
